The Clay Station is a new ceramic workshop with studio space, kilns and equipment for hire, part of the Alloa Makers Village at the old Claremont School at A907 Ludgate roundabout (FK10 2DE).  It was set up with finance from the Clackmannanshire Alliance: glassmaker Elin Isakson also has a studio and furnace on site. The Alliance is keen to build on longstanding glass and ceramics traditions in Alloa: the town sits on clay and silica beds and has the oldest glassworks in Europe still working.

The Clay Station at Alloa Makers Village is being run by Fiona Byrne-Sutton who has offered it to SPA as our 2010 Open Exhibition venue you can reach her at 07856694126  fbs.ceramics@googlemail.com . Exhibition organiser is Jane Kelly at 01968 677854  jane.kelly2@virgin.net ; Alloa-based SPA member  Joanna Nowak keeps the rota at 07972 878036 .

The Alloa show was postponed from spring to allow the premises to be finished.

Fiona Byrne-Sutton, whose enthusiasm has carried us thus far, is moving into the Clay Station (which our exhibition is using) as we speak. We had a look on 14 May at the Clay Station and the Makers Village under construction, and at some of the exciting things happening around MakeSpace in Alloa town centre.
